Some design Ideas

Ceremony Decorating Tests and demo's

I'm a fan of the pretty bow wrapped around the top of the vase, others may want to keep it more simple. The smaller vases wrapped with the bows will be at the chair ends along the aisle on the ground.

These taller vases with a little tulle inside the vase (not sure I like that look yet). These larger vases will be on the platform where the pastor stands close to the bridge.

This last image is beautiful although not perfectly demonstrated in this lighting. There is a mix of clear, black gel beads and red diamonds with the gel. The submerged light was stunning with all the colours it bounces off especially off the red crystals. This would be a gorgeous mixture for the bottom of the centrepieces!

I am loving the black, white, and red theme, so dramatic and romantic combination.

Mom and Me Go on our First Decorating Trip

Today mom and I went out to some wholesalers in the area for decorators and florists. We got lots of ribbon, tool, gems, glass nuggets, lots of different gel pearl beads in clear, black, and red. We got ice cube gems, red diamond nuggets, lots of fake flowers for practice, an immersible light for the bottom of the inside of the vase.

We bought a couple of vases that are nice that we will probably end up using for the ceremony. They are beautiful!

These are some of the items we were impressed with and some
choices for the wedding reception and ceremony.

Photography

I certainly did my research in this area. There is a very wide range for pricing wedding photography. It was important for Orian and I to meet with every photographer we were considering while considering our budget. I must have contacted and emailed over 25 photographers, eventually narrowing it down to the 6 people we met with.

We made our decision and chose a wonderful photographer with affordable rates and a laid back personality who is very easy to get along with. Her business was fairly new and booming quickly and her portfolio was exactly what we were looking for! Stunning and captivating pictures! She gave us exactly what we were looking; spend the wedding day with us, the pictures in high resolution on a DVD and an engagement session within our budget!

Carly Faust photography is our wonderful photographer!

DJ

Music is very important to Orian and I. Orian was in a band when he was younger and plays guitar and sings and I have been in church bands and play guitar and love singing. Orian likes to brag about his ridiculously amazing collection of albums on record and cd.

Music being this much important to us we chose a really good DJ with an awesome website and great reviews and recommendations! It also helps meeting the owner a few times at church. We were excited to have found a very passionate and talented DJ that is easy to get along with and has affordable rates!

Wedding Planning continues

Choosing the date is important!!

September 2, 2012 is our date.

Of course coming up with a budget, guest list, picking your bridal party and groomsmen and of course finding the perfect dress...lots to do!! Plan, organize, research, and budget...the perfect four things to keep in mind when you are planning the wedding!

For me picking the venue was a big deal we wanted to have a conservative budget for the venue with a maximum of 90 guests.

We researched a lot of places and looked around and compared many different aspects that each venue had to offer. We chose Mayfair Lakes Golf Course and Country Club in Richmond BC for its stunning golf course beauty and the view of the mountains in the distance. It was a reasonable price that could accommodate all our guests. We lucked out with an an onsite ceremony site outdoor located on the island surrounded by  the lake in the golf course. The venue is stunning and we were happy with the price.

Reception site at the Lakeside Grill at Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country in Richmond BC
Inside of the Lakeside Grill Restaurant reception will be transformed into a lovely wedding room
This is on the bridge on the island for the ceremony facing the Lakeside Grill
Island for the ceremony...beautiful!!

What ever you choose it has to be the right match for you! We fell in love with such a beautiful venue and the convenience of having the ceremony and reception at the same site making it easier for the guest who are traveling and don't know the area.

Creating a Wedding

What an Exciting adventure, this something I could get use to, I enjoy the planning, the decorating, the crafting and creating.

Roses are what I love, I love the rich dark colour of a red rose. This is our wedding theme.

#1 Was choosing a theme: Red Roses, so beautiful
#2 Was Choosing the colors; Black White and Red, rich, classy, dramatic, and romantic.
#3 All the rest of the Decorating fell into place

Style and Theme!
  • For me I quickly decided that I wanted black lace to go over the white linen and a centerpiece with red roses to accent my theme.
  • Roses and Rose petals as far as the budget will allow.
  • A Classic simple look with beauty and a dramatic romantic feel

What are your colours and what kind of theme? Do you want it classy and simply, rustic, country, home garden...so many to choose from!

What other key element do you want to include?
